Welcome to 4MyPasswords.com - Your secure online password manager!

This web application allows you to securely manage your passwords and other sensitive information (credit card numbers, for example) online, so that they are always available to you, regardless of where you are or what computer you are using.

Security was key when designing this site:

• All communications use 'https' (SSL, Secure Sockets Layer for the technically-inclined) - the same secure protocol used by eBay and other eCommerce sites.
• Key pieces of information are encrypted on the database so that even if the database is accessed illegally, the critical information is not usable. For each password entry that you create, the following fields are encrypted on the database:
1. The user id
2. The password
3. The URL (or website name) where you use that id/password
• In addition to the user id and password that you use to logon to 4MyPasswords, you select a 4-character PIN (Personal Identification Number). This PIN is used, together with your password, to encrypt the information on the database. Each user of 4MyPasswords selects their own unique PIN. As an added measure of security, your PIN is not stored in the database with your other account information -- we discard the PIN when you logout, so that it is not available to a potential attacker.
• The password you use to signon to 4MyPasswords is also encrypted. In fact, it is encrypted in such a fashion that even we, the developers of this application, cannot decrypt it. Don't forget your 4MyPasswords.com password or PIN(!) because we cannot recover them for you!
• When reviewing your list of items, click on a column name to sort the rows by that field.
• You can enter things other than passwords: try credit cards; frequent flyer numbers; serial numbers;...
